Overview
A custom domain allows you to create branded short URLs using your own domain name instead of the default SPRL domains. Branded links improve trust, increase click-through rates, and provide a professional experience for your audience.
For example, instead of sharing https://sprl.me/abc123, you can create links such as https://go.yourcompany.com/sale or https://yourdomain.com/offer.
Before You Begin
- You must have a registered SPRL account.
- Your domain must be under your control so you can update its DNS records.
- A minimum wallet balance may be required before adding custom domains.
- Free accounts can connect up to two custom domains. Additional domains depend on your plan.
Supported Domain Types
SPRL supports both root domains and subdomains.
| Domain Type | Recommended DNS Record | Example |
| Root Domain | A Record | example.com |
| Subdomain | CNAME | go.example.com |

Best Practices
- Use short branded subdomains such as go.company.com, link.company.com, or s.company.com.
- Enable HTTPS by keeping your DNS records correctly configured.
- Use branded domains for marketing campaigns, social media, SMS, WhatsApp, and email marketing.
- Keep DNS records unchanged after verification unless you intend to remove the domain.
Troubleshooting
My domain is still pending verification
- Confirm that your DNS records have been updated correctly.
- Allow up to 24 hours for DNS propagation.
- Ensure there are no conflicting DNS records.
SSL has not been issued
SSL certificates are generated automatically after successful domain verification. If your domain has recently been verified, allow a little more time for certificate provisioning.
